SEO 101: How To Make Your Website Search-Engine Friendly
Contrary to what you might think, basic SEO mainly comes down to simplicity and common sense. In a nutshell, the purpose of SEO is to make a website more search-engine friendly, and it’s really not that difficult to do. Basic SEO does not require using taxonomy, programming or advanced algorithms –- all that it requires is a basic idea of how search engines behave and work.
If you’re trying to rank a keyword that isn’t competitive (i.e. few other similar websites use it), then it’s not that hard to get good placement on Google and on other search engines. You need to put the keyword that you want to rank well for in the h1 or, even better, in the title HTML tag. Of course, the keyword should also be repeated throughout each page several times.
Okay, but what do you need to do you’re working with a competitive keyword? If this is the case, you should invest more time and effort in getting it on top; after all, Google and most other major search engines aim to list only the best and most informative websites first. If you are a blog owner, here are a few strategies for getting to the top of the search engine result pages (or SERPs):
Publish multiple high quality and keyword-rich articles per week. If this isn’t possible, publishing one article per week is also acceptable. At the bare minimum, however, try to publish at least one each month.
It’s crucial that the articles you publish are unique, compelling, interesting and, last but not least, authoritative. If, for example, you want to rank well for “gadgets for men” (which, I imagine, is not that easy because the keyword is too broad), then you need to make sure that your website offers valuable information regarding gadgets for men.
Read This Before Trying Any “SEO Tricks”
You’re reading this article because your site doesn’t rank well, or because you’re simply interested in SEO. The most important SEO advice for webmasters is this: Instead of achieving high rankings, focus on building your site first. As any SEO expert would tell you, this simple strategy not only works, but it works really well. If, however, you don’t intend to or don’t have the time to build a high quality website or blog, SEO tricks can also be helpful.
3 Simple SEO Tricks That Will Help Your Website Get Noticed
- 1.Use short and interesting titles. When it comes to creating content for search engines, this is one of the first things that you need to learn. The best ways to create effective titles is by front-loading them with keywords and including some emotion into them (excitement and curiosity work well).
- 2.Use clean and search-engine-optimized URLs. You can optimize an URL by including your keyword in it.
- 3. Add social sharing buttons. SEO experts suggest that social sharing affects search results. If you want to use this strategy, make sure you produce good content, ask your readers to share something if they find it useful and the share buttons are visible.
