The Perks Of Working From Home

The Perks Of Working From Home

If you’ve ever made the change from working in an office to working from home, you will know that there are a lot of perks to being in your own space when you are working. If you are thinking of making the switch from the office to home, here are some of the perks:

More time with family

The best thing about working from home or for yourself is that you can dictate the hours you work. It also means that you will be able to avoid the daily commute and any traffic which may stop you from getting home to your family in the evenings. You’ll be able to spend much more time with the people closest to you and make the most of your home life.

Less stressful environment

If you’ve ever been sat in the office on a Monday morning amongst piles and piles of paperwork, the phone ringing off the hook and your boss pestering you to do every task under the sun: you’ll be glad to know that working at home is nothing like that at all. For starters, in the morning you won’t have to talk to anyone before you’ve had that hit of caffeine. You’ll be able to roll out of bed, walk downstairs and make yourself some breakfast and a brew. Sit in front of the TV like you normally would before setting off for work- but instead of getting dressed, covering your face in makeup and fitting into uncomfortable heels; you’ll be able to walk to your office area, sit down and get to work. It’s a much better atmosphere for the morning and is way less stressful for you.

Quieter atmosphere

As said above, you won’t be having your colleagues chewing your ear off about their relationship woes, or your boss moaning about every little thing you do. You’ll have the peace and serenity to crack on with your work without anyone talking to you and distracting you. You’ll also be able to pick the radio station for once!

Less distractions

If you are halfway through a task, you won’t have to be called for a meeting and lose your place. You won’t be asked to do something else while you’re in the middle of an important task. You can work at your own pace, work out a to-do list for each day and prioritize your tasks as you see fit.

More productive

One of the best things about having your own office space is that you can decorate and arrange it however you like. You won’t be faced with an imposing cubicle space or tiny drawers which you cannot fit anything in, you’ll be able to make your desk the most clear and organized space you can in order to increase your productivity. Another point to mention is that if you have clients to meet with, you’ll need to find a place more professional to host them. You may have heard How virtual offices are changing the work place, and it’s true that a virtual office is a great option for home workers because it offers a place for you to meet clients, and an address to send post to. It means you won’t be distracted during the day by the doorbell ringing.
