According to WikiPedia, The term “blog” was not coined until the late 1990’s, the History of Blogging undergoes various transactions. In 1994, Links.net was the first blog created by Swarthmore College student Justin Hall, and he called it as “Personal Home Page”. The student was recognized as the one of the earliest Bloggers.

 

From one of the earliest Bloggers, Steve Gibson was the first Blogger to be hired by Ritual Entertainment to blog full-time in 1997. After that, the term “weblog” came into existence and it was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. Surprisingly, the term “blog” was coined by Peter Merholz, who was just jokingly broke the word “blog” from the phrase “WeBlog” in 1999.

 

Continuously, Pyra Labs launched “Blogger” in August, 1999 and undoubtedly it quickly become a popular. It was dedicated to blog publishing tool, that was the first tool to emerge Blogging online. In 2000, Jesse James Garret was the first to count the no. of blogs online, and it was 23 Blogs on the internet. This brings the revolutionary change into the world of Blogging termed as the Blogosphere.

 

Then after, people started making blogs on different niche’s. Later, in 2010, Technorati revealed that 35% (approximately) of Bloggers were earning from their blogs. And, also reported that 39% of all bloggers were using Mobiles devices and Tablets for Blogging.

 

Now, it’s the time to enter the Google into the world of blogging called “Blogosphere”. In 2011, a social media platform for Bloggers was launched by the Google names as “Google+”, it has been accepted and used by the Bloggers widely.
